UKCA
As part of the UK exit from the EU, the UK is implementing a new UKCA product certification marking requirement for the above product types placed on the market in Great Britain. The UK has set a one year transition period to complete marking of these products. Beginning January 1, 2021 product manufactured can be marked with the UKCA mark, and by January 1, 2022 all product manufactured on or after this date must carry the UKCA mark. Product manufactured prior to January 1, 2021 is exempt from this requirement.
Target timeline for transition: Beginning February 4, 2021 Micron began to convert affected products to comply with this change. Micron expects to completed the conversion by April 1, 2021. Within this period a manufacture date work week (WW) will correspond to when a specific product family was converted to carry the UKCA mark. Typically, product manufactured prior to this WW will not have the mark and product manufactured after this WW will have the mark. Although, please note that due to Micron’s internal processes there can be some product with a manufacture date WW prior to conversion that may also carry the UKCA mark, thus there may be mixed product during the transition.
Following the UK guidance, Micron’s product shipping through December 31, 2021 may contain a mix of with or without UKCA mark until inventory is depleted. Beginning January 1, 2022 all product shipped by Micron with a manufacture date of January 1, 2021 or after will include the UKCA mark.
