Apple® products have varying amounts of RAM depending on the product and model. To check how much RAM you have in your MacBook or iMac check on the Apple icon in the top left, select 'About This Mac' and the amount of RAM should be listed under Memory.

*3.0MHz and 3.4MHz systems with the Intel® Core i5 processors only support modules up to 8GB. Note that per Apple manufacturer specifications, memory can’t be upgraded on (a) many Mac systems made after mid-2012 and (b) retina-based models. Before upgrading your memory, consult your owner’s manual to verify that an upgrade is possible.
