What is Crucial Pro memory and who is it for?
Crucial Pro DRAM is our top-of-the-line JEDEC memory, delivering high performance right out of the box in sleek modules featuring low-profile, aluminum heat spreaders but without the fuss of chasing dies, LEDs or the risks of overclocking memory speeds and latency tuning.
Best for gamers, creatives, professionals and any computer users who need a high-performance, plug-and-play memory solution without the fuss of overclocking. The addition of heat spreaders to the memory helps easily dissipate module heat and enhances the PC’s aesthetic by providing a sleek, modern look.

How is Crucial Pro memory different from Crucial memory?
Crucial memory is our standard, JEDEC DRAM without heat spreaders. Crucial Pro memory is also JEDEC memory, but features low-profile, aluminum heat spreaders for those who desire heat dissipation and/or a cool, sleek design, and is only available in higher speeds (5600MT/s and above). Crucial Pro DRAM modules also support Intel® XMP 2.0 (DDR4 Pro), and Intel® XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPOTM (DDR5 Pro) to enable performance recovery.

Why does Crucial Pro memory support Intel® XMP 2.0, XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO if it’s JEDEC memory? Can I overclock Crucial Pro memory or tune its latency to tighter timings?
Crucial Pro memory can reach rated JEDEC speeds with Intel® XMP 2.0, XMP 3.0 or AMD EXPOTM turned on in the UEFI/BIOS settings if there is a system-level downclock of memory speeds in select system memory configurations. This performance recovery is not guaranteed on all systems, as it is highly dependent on the CPU and motherboard tiers, as well as BIOS stability. Altering clock frequency or voltage may result in damage to computer components. Micron disclaims any and all liability for such damage. Your warranty is void if Crucial Pro DRAM is set to overclock beyond JEDEC specifications, rated speeds and timings.

How do I know what is compatible with all the various systems available in the market?
Crucial DDR4 Pro is compatible with 8th-13th Gen Intel Core and AMD Ryzen 1000-5000 Series desktop computing platforms and Crucial DDR5 Pro is compatible with 12th Gen Intel Core, AMD Ryzen 7000 Series and above desktop computing platforms. Also, Crucial has industry-recognized compatibility tools that make this easy. The System Scanner and System Selector help you find the right memory with options to search by system or part number.

Are you ever going to bring Crucial Ballistix memory back? Are you going to bring RGB memory back?
We remain focused on growing our standard JEDEC Crucial memory category and have no plans to reintroduce Crucial Ballistix and/or RGB memory options. Currently our Crucial Pro Overclocking DDR5 is the product we recommend currently instead of Ballistix.
